Clarify a choice
Pros and Cons Analyzer
A decision rarely has one big pro and one big con — it has many, and they are not equally important. List the advantages and disadvantages, rate how much each one matters, and see a weighted balance instead of the loudest argument winning.
How is the balance calculated?
Each item you list counts for its importance: 1 (minor) up to 5 (decisive). The positive weight is the sum of all your pros’ importance; the negative weight is the same for your cons. The balance is positive minus negative. It is intentionally simple — its job is to stop one loud argument from drowning out five quieter ones.
About this tool. Based on the priorities and scores you entered, one side may have a stronger weighted result right now — that is information, not an instruction. The final decision belongs to you, and nothing you enter here is stored.

A realistic scenario, already filled in. Open it, then change one number at a time to see what actually moves the result.
Taking a new job, advantages against disadvantages
Better pay and more learning against more stress and less security. The pros win narrowly, which is exactly the kind of result worth sleeping on rather than acting on immediately.

Frequently asked questions
What does the balance score mean?
It is the total importance you gave the advantages minus the total importance you gave the disadvantages. A difference of about two points or less effectively means the two sides are balanced.
How many pros and cons should I list?
Only the ones you can state in a single line. Five real disadvantages tell you more than six invented ones, and importance matters far more than quantity.
Can the analyser tell me to go ahead?
No. It reports which side currently has the stronger weighted result based on what you entered. The decision, and the responsibility for it, stay with you.
My lists are long but the result is a tie. What does that mean?
Usually that the real deciding factor is not on either list: it is a person, a value or a constraint you have not written down. Add it as a single high-importance item and run it again.
